Lazy JC CoOp

Tuesday, December 18th, 2007

Dec 18 will be another meeting for the purpose of gaining information on the possibility of cooping the hardware store. We all know how vital the store is to our community and know that we need to do everything we can to keep the service in the community. We have many people within the community that have expressed interest in the idea of a coop to purchase the store with the continued help of Ann to manage it. This could be a benefit to both the community and to Ann.

Local family loses home in fire

Tuesday, December 18th, 2007

On a windy Dec morning Mike and Yana Ploughoff along with their 4 small children lost their home to a electrical fire. luckily Ken from midrivers telephone service made call to Yana around 9 a.m. to let her know he was coming to fix her internet service. Has she woke up she found her home filled with smoke. However was able to get her children out of the house in time. The home was a complete loss. Thanks to the help of the community Mike and Yana were able to get moved into a trailer that day. Many community people helped with items needed, red cross provided vouchers for clothing and Horizons provided Melstone Bucks for gas or anything else needed locally.
