Mussellshell Valley Community Foundation Grant received

Melstone Beautification committee received the MVCF grant for $3000 money will be used for a picnic table canopy, town entrance park, community garden, tree program, along with planting of town planters. This is a very intense project that will be on going for some time. This is a huge boost to improving the looks of our community.

Chamber Office Set Up

Melstone area chamber has set up their office within the Community center building. We have purchased 4 new laptop computers. 1 is for office use and the other 3 are for use by the teen center and can also be used by community members. We also set up a wireless router so wireless internet service is available for all residents to use within the center. We are looking for volunteers to work in the office from 10-2. Anyone interested should contact Tammy Brewer for details. We have also started a lending library  if you have any books you’d like to lend out bring them to the office any time.

Melstone Area Chamber

March 17 we held a membership drive and St Patrick’s dinner, entertainment was a Teen Center game Tournament. Fun was had by all and 16 new members were signed up. We now have a total of 25 paid members. Active committees within the chamber are Teen Center, Beautification, Renovation and Maintenance, and New Business. All committees have been very busy with their own projects along with helping with others

Melstone Teen Center

With the help of many community members the Melstone Teen Center was opened. Teens in the area are able to enjoy a Big Screen TV, Foos Ball, Air Hockey, Ping Pong, Videos, board games along with concessions. The center has been open at various hours according to when needed. The center is also available for special events. Cindy Brewer can be contacted to make arrangements . Teen members are part of the committee along with other volunteers to run the center.
